Rheology Control in Thick Mortars: Blending Cellulose Ether Viscosities

Thick-bed leveling mortars are often applied in layers several centimeters deep. This creates three rheological challenges at once: no sagging on vertical surfaces, easy pumping, and smooth troweling without sticking. A single viscosity grade of cellulose ether usually trades one problem for another. Low-viscosity grades pump easily but struggle with sag resistance. High-viscosity grades stop
