Thin repair mortar is typically applied at a thickness of just 3 to 10 millimeters. This narrow range imposes extreme demands. It must bond firmly to the old substrate to prevent debonding, yet stay flexible enough to absorb shrinkage stress and temperature movement without cracking. One property often comes at the expense of the other.
