Problems and solutions for segregation of dry-mixed plastering mortar
(1) In bulk mobile silos, the mortar at the beginning and the end of the bulk mobile silo is prone to segregation.
Solution: Keep the amount of dry-mixed mortar in the bulk mobile silo at the construction site at no less than 3 tons. This is to prevent the dry-mixed mortar from being discharged too high during the process of being pumped into the bulk mobile silo, causing segregation.
(2) Dry-mixed mortar in storage tanks and transport vehicles is prone to segregation.
Solution: Store the dry-mixed mortar in storage tanks and transport vehicles as full as possible and transport them at a uniform speed and smoothly.
(3) Slow loading and unloading speeds make dry-mixed mortar prone to segregation.
Whether loading, pumping, or unloading from a storage tank. The loading and unloading volume should be large and the speed should be fast. Experiments show that the “segregation” phenomenon of dry-mixed mortar with small material volume and slow unloading speed is more serious than that with large material volume and fast unloading speed.
Solution: Increase the diameter of the silo unloading port and speed up the unloading speed.
(4) The mixer capacity under the bulk mobile silo is small. And the mixing amount is small. Which is also the reason for the slow discharge speed and poor mortar quality.
Solution: Consider modifying the mixer capacity under the bulk mobile silo or installing a large-capacity mixer.
Quality problems and solutions caused by non-standard construction
(1) The one-time plastering is too thick during construction, causing mortar cracking.
Solution: Follow the construction specifications and do not plaster too thick at one time. For example, the thickness of each layer of external wall plastering thickness requires that the thickness should be 5-7mm each time. When the total plastering thickness is greater than 35mm, reinforcement measures should be taken.
(2) The mortar is applied on a substrate or base that is not suitable for its strength grade. The mortar shrinkage is inconsistent with the base, causing cracking of the dry-mixed mortar.
Solution: Use mortar of appropriate strength grade for various wall materials.
(3) No measures are taken at the junction of different materials, causing cracking of dry-mixed plastering mortar.
Solution: A reinforcement mesh should be used at the junction of different materials.
(4) Failure to water the masonry or excessive watering causes cracks and fissures in the dry-mixed plastering mortar.
Solution: Follow the construction specifications, such as watering and moistening the fired bricks and autoclaved fly ash bricks before plastering.
(5) Masonry such as autoclaved bricks are not built or plastered before reaching the specified age. Causing cracks in the dry-mixed plastering mortar.
Solution: Various block materials must reach the specified age and can only be used after their volume is stable. For example, the age of autoclaved bricks should not be less than 28 days before use.
(6) Dry-mixed plastering mortar and dry-mixed floor mortar are not moisturized and maintained in time after solidification, causing mortar shrinkage and cracking.
Solution: Moisturize and maintain the mortar in time after solidification.
(7) Other materials are added to the construction site, such as mortar king, sand, lime, etc. This leads to reduced mortar strength, or even peeling and cracking.
Solution: It is prohibited to add other materials to the mortar without the permission of the mortar manufacturer at the construction site.
